Yoshiko Furukawa was born in Tokyo, Japan.
She studied her bachelor studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geidai) with a.o.
Prof. Susumu Aoyagi und Mami Miyake where she afterwards proceeded in master studies, and she graduated with honor after receiving award the Doseikai Award.
She continued her 2nd Master studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen/Germany
with Prof. Arnulf von Arnim. Since October 2013, she is studying at the Münster University of Music in final destination "Konzertexamen" with Prof. Michael Keller. In January 2015 began she
studying fortepiano with Prof. Ulrich Beetz.
Yoshiko Furukawa won many scholarships and also prizes in competitions, including the 4th prize
at the 13th Schubert International Piano Competition, the 1st prize at the 6th Troisdorf
International Piano Competition, the 1st prize at the 3rd International Piano
Competition Andrea Baldi, the 1st prize at the 21th Gianluca Campochiaro International Competition, the
1st prize at the Steinway-Förderpreis 2015, the 2nd prize (no first prize awarded) at the 13th Piano
Competiton PETROF, the Bronze prize at the 4th International Chopin Piano Competition in ASIA, the 4th prize at the International Music Competition Chinese Wall and the 3rd prize at the 13th
Classic Competition for young musicians.
Since then, Yoshiko Furukawa has appeared with many orchestras starting with
the Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta(Tallinn Sinfonietta), the Krakow Chamber Philharmonic, the NHK DanYu Orchestra and International Summer Academy Cervo Chamber Philharmonic, under
the baton of Kazuki Yamada, Fabrizio Ventura, Stanislaw Galonski, Sergej Bolkhovets, Koki Iwashita and Ian Fountain. She has given concerts in Japan, Germany, Italia, Austria, England
and Poland.
